Book Reviews: How Successful People Win: Using Bunkhouse Logic to Get What You Want in Life by Ben Stein

I think this was one of the most meaningful self help books I have ever read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. in the book, Mr. Stein introduces "bunkhouse logic", which refers to cowboys moving herds of cattle to market. Cowboys don't care what obstacles lie in their path (e.g., snakes, weather, dry holes); they persevere until they reach their destination. Their dream is to get money for their herd, but they must have an achievement destination (city to go to) to make that dream come to fruition. Another idea I found useful was the importance of believing that you can accomplish your goals and being able to visualize yourself achieving them.

He did make one point that I thought was controversial: he stated that you should only associate with winners, because you learn the habits of the people you associate with. At some point, you need to become a mentor and associate with people who are where you WERE, or no one will have the opportunity to grow.
