Book Reviews: The Intuitive Edge by Philip Goldberg

Although this excellent book is now out of print, you can order it via Amazon's out of print network search.

In The Intuitive Edge, Philip Goldberg descibes six types of intuition: discovery, generative, evaluative, operative, predictive, and illumination.

Discovery provides insight into discoverable facts. It's the "eureka" phenomenon -- the recognition of the significance of an accidental finding.

Generative involves learning to be in the right place at the right time -- an awareness of possibilities or options.

Evaluative refers to the inner voice that may dissuade you from a particular undertaking.

Operative is a guiding force that tells you to go a different route -- which prevents an unpleasant alternative (although you may not know that until later).

Predictive contains some prophecy. You get a hunch that a certain event will take place.

Illumination transcends all the others. It's like a cosmic awareness -- you become one.
